Fun Photo Shoot

Since working at my new job I've had the opportunity of doing a lot more shooting. The studio is closed on mondays so my boss allows me schedule a shoot of my own if I'd like. My Brother Trever came up and we tried a new lighting technique that we've been doing at work. It's all shot on a white background then you can place whatever background you want. It's a lot of fun!Megan also came with him so we did a mini shoot of them together. They are so cute!

I can't promise that I'll get any better though- it's summer, play time!
As of my life and what has happened I got a new job!! Yep!
I'm now working for Mackley Design and Portraiture.
It's a fun job...or should I say I believe it will lead to a fun job...
right now there is a lot of unknown territory so it can get overwhelming.
Since I haven't really been in a studio since graduated from collage-
there is a lot of much needed reminding. I'll be doing everything
from shooting, editing and designing to answering phones, scheduling and anything else.
Anyways, just thought I'd post the slurpee pics for the last couple months.

I'll be posting another shortly with some fun photo shoots I've done as well.

7/11 project

Since this year is 2011 my friend and I have decided that every 7th day of the month we hit up 7 eleven for a slurpee. It's so fun! Anyone who wants to come join us is always welcome! :)

I haven't been good at keeping up on my blog so i'll post January, February and March's pics for the 7 eleven visit. March is for SURE the coolest and I hope to have plenty more cool ones coming.

It's been forever since i've blogged I think i've forgotten how...must be my age!

Yesterday at Church I got a new calling...wait for it wait for it...

"25 or better representative."

This is not a joke people...this calling is for real!

They asked me to stand then proceeded to announce my calling

and as they did I heard a gasp and then little whispers fill the congregation.

Things like: "She's how old," "I was wondering where that old lady

smell was coming from," and "that explains the wrinkles" etc. etc.

Then after sacrament one of my guy friends comes up to me and says,

"Jami!! Now everyone knows how old you really are."

PSH!

Anyways- life is good!

I think Kenz and I sat there for about ten min laughing our heads off...we just thought it was the funniest thing! Nobody would ever come check on their car either...maybe joke was on us IDK. LOL oh the simple things in life!

RAGNAR!!!!

Last month we were assigned to document the ragnar race for Icon.
We were highlighting a couple NordicTrack teams, FreeMotion team
and a girl and guys"Elite team."
We were given a piece of paper that had everyones names and which
leg they were running.
Our job was to find them, at the right time might I add, and catch
them on film running.
For those of you that don't know. Ragnar is a 24 hour relay.
You have 12 people on your team and you have to get
from Logan Utah to Park City Utah= 188 miles.
So we started at 7:30 friday morning and I got home Saturday
around 8:00. There are teams starting the race friday morning around
5:00 til friday night around 6:00. So there are teams finishing
all day saturday.
Anyways so it was SUCH an adventure, for sure a learning experience!

chiropractic for the runners, along with a band
(that sucked) drinks etc.Pretty cool lil set up they got going on. We got so many people excited when we would come flying by with the camera watching them run.

I have never been trained in the video camera department...so when out of the blue i'm asked to go be one at the finish line catching the teams we were following come in...I got a lil stressed. Ok a lot stressed. At this point I was running on one hour of sleep, it was 90 degrees and I was in jeans and a long sleeve shirt. (Good thing the shirt was mesh or I would have died, no i'm not being dramatic.) I laugh about it now but at this point I was having to focus on not crying I was just so tired and drained. Anyways...not one to brag or anything but pretty sure I have some good footage. haha ;)
This is my buddy Rick "the Camera Man" Page. I was his P.A. for the Ragnar, we had some good times and good laughs.
First trip to Bear Lake this summer. That place is great! The water still needs to take some time to warm up but it sure is fun. Made some new friends Josh and wait for it wait for it...Josh. haha. There were other to, but these two helped us build the grand castle.

Random things

This is just a quick update of my life- I Don't have a whole lot of time to blog right now but I didn't want to get to far behind.

Brad- the neighbor downstairs, invited Kenz and I to go Skeet Shooting,
it was SO fun! As hard as it is to admit it, I usually hit like every 1 out of 10...
NOT THIS TIME! I think I hit about 80%!! :)

Tough Competition!

Let me Introduce you to Jason (aka Jace).
Sometimes he thinks he's a gangster- hence the gangster sign. haha
Jace is from Colorado, is on the USU track team and for some reason
seems to be following me around (wink wink).

He went to Burley with me last weekend and we had to introduce him to the farm life,
and of course, dirtbikes! He's only ridden once before, so Trever gave him a
short run down, good times.

Yes it's pretty entertaining and funny, but I can't help
but feel bad for the other team. LOL!!

I try to be cool but usually I'm just me,
So last week I tried to be cool times 3.
I put my hat on my head, got bundled up tight,
I was going snowboarding you see...I even went ALL night.
Crash after crash I got right back up
I would not be stopped by a few Big Bump(s).

My knees, my butt, my back, my head
"psh, pain doesn't matter," thats what they all said!
So time after time- red face blue face 1, 2, 3
I had so much fun, I didn't even hit a tree.
As I grow up I become cooler and tough

Sometimes Making Memories Makes Ya Sweat

This weekend some of my family and I went to the little town of Kemmerer Wyoming.

When I say town I mean two stop lights, a grocery store, couple gas stations and the first ever...

My aunt is the P.E. Teacher at the Elementry School there so she has the keys
and the hook ups for all the fun stuff in the school.
The Schools there have so many fun things to play with for P.E.
It's not just your usual basketballs and a couple kickballs. You want it, they got it!!
They have everything!! Not to mention the pool and the cross country ski equipment.
Sadly my Camera died so I didn't get to take very many pictures.

way fun though. My Dad, Mom, Morgan and I were the only ones that could hack the whole coarse. It was pretty intense and breaking trail makes a person tired thats for sure! I wish my Camera hadn't of died so I could have gotten a picture of us on top of the mountain.
I even got a little (a lot) of sun on my face...can't wait for summer! :)

It doesn't always take lots of money, a big city and lots of shopping to make some of the best memories. Every activity was active, fun and with some of the people I love most.
Whether is racing in the pool, games in the gym, watching mom fall down while skiing time and time again and always laughing,
Jess and DJ thinking the downstairs was haunted or just relaxing and eating the good food-
It was all so fun and I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Blasted Pride!!!

So there I was at the gym on the the treadmill minding
my own business
when one of those really little, perfect hair, perfect make-up
kinda girl shows up...ya know
the ones that wear nicer clothes to workout in than I do in my daily life.
She jumps on the treadmill beside me (and my blasted pride)
so I think to myself,
"She might be cuter but I can out run her."
Oh I don't know why I have to have such a competitive nature!!
I was already about a mile into my run when this all happened...
Well 45 min later she FINALLY leaves and I couldn't just
stop right when she stopped, that would be WAY to obvious...
so I ran another five min.
Needless to say, the gym kicked my butt today!
What a long run!!

Fun in Photoshop

Today was kind of a stressful day. Work almost killed me, really, I'm not even being dramatic! Trying to be creative at work can make me wanna pull my hair out sometimes. I got my degree in Photography, let me be more clear, STILL Photography (and business which is boring). I work with mostly After Affects which is dealing with shapes, texts, movie clips, graphics...then making them all move in a way that doesn't look Cheesy or that a two year old did it. My Boss is VERY picky (which I actually appreciate...usually) but come on! I think I just need a vacation. Since I'm not sure I'll be getting one of those til at least Thanksgiving I had to come home today and let loose in photoshop, My all time favorite program. I just wanted to be creative and not have someone tell me it wasn't good enough. lol I think I might have gone a little over-board, but I had fun. I can't wait for the day that I'm my own boss and can focus on photography more. I love it so much! The little man had a photo shoot a couple weekends ago. He is growing so fast! So this is one of the favs and one of my favorite buddies, Parker! :)

Last Weekend I....

Last weekend Kenz and I took one of our old roommates to Burley. Good times, lots of fun, lots of food...and oh the memories.

Ken'z Dad took us out in the middle of no where in Paul and we went shooting then explored a cave. Pretty sure caves creep me out... especially when there are so many tunnels to get lost in.
I wasn't too scared though, seeing that we are all strong enough to hold it up if it were to start crumbling down. haha!

Weekend with Roommates

Friday night Brooke, Me and Kenz decided to go light some left over fireworks and throw them in the water. As lame as that might sound, since fire and water usually don't mix, it was a lot of fun! The fireworks called, "flowers" look really cool spinning in the water at night. It's considered a talent to be able to always have fun in a town with not a whole lot to do. I love smaller towns and the creativity that comes when people are figuring out something to do.
Me and Kenz... we match! lol All I can say is I got dressed first!!
Saturday night we (all of us roommates) all well on a group date to the Tremonton Fair and Rodeo. Paige (far right) works at the Buckle in the mall and guys are ALWAYS asking for her number. Last week a guy asked for her number and she didn't want to go on the date alone so she told him she would go if he got friends for her roommates. lol It was pretty fun up until the part when Kenz and I's date came across like they didn't want to pay for us to go on any rides...and we didn't bring cash. LOL It was still fun though.
